Sates live in California, including Hawaii and Alaska. There is no greater gathering of
people in America than in California.
We can reach more people by stepping out of our front door in California than
anywhere else in the country. So, let's do it. Let's light California up with the love of God

When we look at the scope of things in the world, what do we see? I see a world helplessly lost without
Christ—a world unaware of their looming condemnation, wandering in the wilderness of sin, already
suffering the consequences of turning from God, locked in sin's death grip.
Considering what the Bible says, the result of not taking hold of God's offer of salvation found in Jesus
Christ, the grim picture gets even worse for the lost...God's final judgment on sin. The end of life draws
closer for the unbelieving.
So, is there anything we as Christians can do about the ominous circumstances of the unbelieving
majority in the world? What do we do about the situation?
The first thing we do is align ourselves with the word of God—turn from sin and follow Jesus. When we
follow Jesus our eyes are opened and we can see ourselves surrounded with unbelievers, agnostics and
the lost. Jesus was always ministering to the lost, those needing the Savior. There are many
places in the Bible to which we can point to reveal this truth
(see Matthew 9:12-13; John 3:16; 9:4-5; 10:10).
When we walk in Jesus' wake, we find ourselves in the headwinds of the needy and the sick—the
unbelieving, the lost, the sinner. In fact, we can know if we are following Jesus by that very observation.
In the "Parable of the Lost Sheep," found in Matthew 18:11 through 14, Jesus said: "For the Son of Man
has come to save that which was lost." Then He goes on to teach how a shepherd will leave his flock and
go find the lost sheep that has gone astray.
Jesus' mission in the world was to seek and save sinners. If we are going to follow Jesus, we must do the
same or we are not following Him at all.
Jesus left us a mission. It's found in Matthew 28:18-20. Here is how it is stated:
"All authority has been
given to Me in heaven and on earth. 'Go' therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that
I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Therefore, the second and final thing we can do after we have given ourselves to God in repentance of
sin—aligning ourselves with the Word of God, is to seek out the lost and bring them to Jesus, the Shepherd
of the sheep.
Only when we do this are we truly following Jesus and fulfilling the Great commission given us in
Matthew 28:18-20.
Please help reach California for Christ by first praying and then by giving.

God Loves California. He created the Golden
State and wants to see California turn to Him in faith through
Christ. The Bible says that God is
"not willing that any should
perish but that all should come to repentance." -- 2 Peter 3:9b

That would include all Californians.
With approximately 38 million people living in California,
California is the largest state in the Union. California needs the
Savior, Jesus Christ, and The First Southern Baptist Church of
Woodlake, California is poised to do something about finding the
lost and bringing them to a saving knowledge of Jesu
s Christ.
